Australian Medical Council AMC Exam Passing Criteria

If you want to pass Australian Medical Council exam, there is always a lot of preparation is required to pass this exam. First, you need to complete all research work associated to AMC and then will go a long way in helping to alleviate the stress levels associated with it. Here is my experience of AMC exam preparation:

Prepare well:

Students who wish to pass Australian Medical Council exam in the first attempt need a lot of preparation and study time will be required of them until the day the AMC exam is taken. Although a lot of time will need to be spent on physical study materials and sticking to a regular study schedule, students can also make use of online AMC questions banks to help them get in as much practice time as possible. The online qbank helps students as they simulate quite a few of the same questions that students can expect to encounter when sitting for the actual examination.

Venues and Test Date:

Unlike many other exams, students can write the Australia medical examination on a few different dates each year - provided that they have registered in time to write on a chosen date. A student will have to register a few months in advance in order to secure his or her place at the desired destination on examination day. At present, some of the cities where the examination can be completed include Melbourne, Townsville and Perth. This enables students to register and write at a venue which is the most convenient for them to access; however, students will need to write the MCQ exam at the center that they have initially registered at.

English Language Proficiency:

Although most medical students are aware of the fact that they need to write these English Proficiency examinations if they wish to practice anywhere in Australia, many of them do not realize that they have to be able to prove that they possess the necessary English language skills before being allowed to write as well. This will need to be done by producing an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) certification before being allowed to register to write any of the medical council's examinations. Completing and passing the IELTS assessment will ensure that medical students possess a proficient level of English to be able to work in the Australian medical industry.

Passing Criteria:

Students/doctors who obtain a pass mark for at least 12 of the 16 sections of the AMC exam will be awarded their AMC certification. However, those who do not will have to be subjected to additional assessment or in some cases, even have to retake the entire examination. Once a clear passing grade has been achieved, a student will be able to practice his or her chosen area of medicine within Australia.
